Thurston Consort Visiting Artists

Thurston Consort Visiting Artists

The 2021 concert season was our first Thurston Consort Visiting Artists. This holiday season the Thurston Consort presented a performance of Washington Irving’s Christmas Sketch Book with the music of New England composers born in the eighteenth century.  These composers included William Billings, Daniel Read, and Jeremiah Ingalls to name a few. The Christmas Sketch Book (abridged) was read by the husband and wife acting and singing team of Elizabeth and Bill Hoermann. Active with theater and choral groups in central and eastern Massachusetts for nearly twenty years, performing with the Stratton Players, Opera 51, the Nashoba Players, Theater III, the Westborough Players, Chelmsford Player, Concord Player, and the Cannon Theater.  Elizabeth is a longtime member of the Concord Women’s Chorus. Elizabeth and Bill live in Acton, MA with their cat Annie. They are anticipating expanded traveling once pandemic restrictions are eased. Annie had no comment regarding her post-COVID plans. Elizabeth and Bill with the Thurston Consort’s performances were partly funded through a grant by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and can be found on YouTube and FATV, Fitchburg, MA.

For the 2022 concert season, the Thurston Consort Visiting Artists will be the Stratton Player in a concert of Elizabethan Music to accompany the humor of William Shakespeare.
